Abelicio L. Apodaca (Abie), CPL US Army, POW Korea, went to serve our Country at the age of 18.  He was born in Albuquerque, (Atrisco) New Mexico, and died honorably while serving our Country during the Korean Conflict as a Prisoner of War on March 31, 1951.  The United States was given the opportunity to recover Abelicio's remains and bring him back home to his family whom had never given up hope for his return.  Mr. Apodaca is survived by his sister Teresa (Apodaca) Aguilar and husband Joseph, cousin, Enrica Gonzales and many extended family members.  Abelicio was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Tillie Apodaca and many aunts and uncles.  Visitation will be Saturday, May 23, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Committal Service with full military honors will follow Mass at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m.
