Alejandro Alex Gallegos, age 96, born in Adelino, New Mexico, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, May 11st, 2018, with his loving family by his side. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Julia, and children, Alex Jr. and Baby Julia. Mr. Gallegos was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II. He was the last surviving member of the Civilian Conversation Corps. NM Chapter. Mr. Gallegos was an active parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church for over 60 years. Mr. Gallegos is survived by his children, Diego (Dickie) Gallegos and wife, Teresa, Steve D. Gallegos and wife, Beverly, Theresa DuBois and husband, Robert, Larry Gallegos, Julian Gallegos and wife, Lea; sister, Helen Martinez; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; best friend, Marty Martini; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 15th, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Drive N.W., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.; a final visitation will be held Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ramon Gallegos, Ileana Gallegos, Joel Gallegos, Angelo Gallegos, Giana Gallegos, Ernie DuBois. Honorary pallbearers will be Marty Martini, Jordan Olguin, Madison Olguin, Melanie Salazar, and Nicol Gallegos.
