Alex N. Maestas, age 81, born in Tafoya, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016, with his family by his side. Alex is survived by his brothers and sisters, Erminda Bustos, Dolores Sena, Joe Maestas and wife, Nora, Barbara Trujillo, Alice Marshall, and Larry Maestas;  former wife, Mary Faye Archuleta;  godson, Joey Maestas III; sister-in-law, Mary Maestas-Torres;  and many nieces nephews, cousins and friends.  Alex was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Isaiah and Ofelia Maestas;  brothers, Lauriano J. Maestas, Victor Maestas and Junior Maestas;  sister, Mary Maestas; nephew, Joey Vigil;  and godson's, Paul  Archuleta and Danny Fernandez.  Visitation will be Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 6:30 p.m.  until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.  A second visitation will be Friday, July 1, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.  at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 605 Fifth St. Springer, NM with a Rosary to be recited at 11:00 a.m.; Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at  11:30 a.m.  Pallbearers will be Derrick Bustos, Ronnie Sena, Greg Trujillo, Antonio Maestas, Lorenzo Maestas, Timmy Jarosick. Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Bustos, Norman Sena, Kenneth Trujillo, Neal Marshall, and Anthony Jarosick. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Palo Blanco, NM.
