Alfred D. Torres, age 55, born July 30, 1960 and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 with his family by his side. Alfred is survived by his parents, Alfred and Mary Lou Torres; sister, Melinda Torres; son, David J. Torres; granddaughter, Shaye Torres; aunts, Estella Elwell and husband, Anisteto, Toni Hernandez-Wixom, and Rickie Archibeque; uncle, Polo Torres; and several family members and friends.  Alfred was a graduate of Albuquerque High School, Class of 1979.  Alfred will be remembered as quite a character who loved to make others smile, he was a diehard Los Angeles Dodgers and Oakland Raiders fan.  His hobbies included fishing and traveling, especially to California to visit his aunt.  Alfred enjoyed going to the beach and the Santa Anita Horse Races and soft ball.  Most importantly, he loved his family and was completely devoted to their care.  Visitation will be Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. at Our Lady of the  Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd NW with a Rosary to be recited at 8:15 a.m.; Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
