Alfredo (Al) Sanchez was called to heaven on Nov 9th, 2017. He passed away with his loving wife, Sophie by his side. Born in EL Paso TX on Nov 3rd, 1935. Residing in Alb since Sept 1969. Devoted husband of Sophie for 25 years; father of Alfred, Joseph (Connie), Robert (Brenda), Michael, Nash, Alicia (Danny), Monica (Tone); grandfather to 14 and great-grandfather to five. Preceded in death by parents Juan M and Antonia; siblings Lupe Ramirez, Gabriel, Rudolfo, Enrique, Johnny, Edward Sanchez, Gilbert. Survived by sisters Bea Mathews, Esther Castro. Brothers Alex plus numerous nephews & nieces.

A talented basketball player at El Paso high earning All-City all District in 1953. Retired (MSGT, USAF from 1954-1979. Spent tours in Vietnam in 1962, 63, 64, 65 while stationed in Philippines. Spent remote tour in Cold Bay Alaska stationed at Colorado Springs, IL, Kansas & KAFB. Attended TVI from 1979-1981. Retired from USPS after 26.5 years with 24 yrs as mail handler. An AVID Dallas Cowboys & Lobo fan.

Rosary will be at Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors SW with Military Honors Fri. Nov 17, 2017. 1:30pm with the vigil to follow at 2pm.

The services will be at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd NW, Mon., Nov 20th, 2017 at a 9am service. Reception to follow.
