Alyce Brasher Waters, age 90, born in Santa Rosa, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, went home  Sunday,  February 21, 2016. In 1945 she won the Miss VJ New Mexico contest winning a contract with Paramount Studios.  She married Tom Waters and remained in Las Angeles, returning to Albuquerque in the 1960's. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Frances Waters; her parents, Clarence J. Brasher Sr. and Frances Brasher; brothers,  Clarence J. Brasher Jr., Lester J. Brasher of Albuquerque, and Richard J. Brasher of Denver, Co.  Alyce is survived by her daughter, Connie Vargas and husband, Juan; grandson, Samuel Sanchez; brothers, Eugene J. Brasher and his wife, Vonnie of Albuquerque, and Stanley J. Brasher  of Denver, Co; a dear family friend, Helen Salas; many nieces, and nephews.  Visitation will be Friday, February 26, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Don.  Final visitation will be Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church,  619 Copper NW from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
