Annie Chavez, age 81, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 at home with her family at her side. Mrs. Chavez is survived by her daughter, Carla Meier and husband, John; brother, Bengie Vigil; grandchildren, Anthony Chavez and wife, Margaret, Valeri Chavez, Miguel Aragon, Johnny Ray Barela, Diego Lucero and wife, Regina, Marcos Chavez and wife, Vanessa, Joe Ben Chavez and wife, Anita, LeAnn Lucero and boyfriend, Dominic, Jessica Lucero, Sarah Joy Deely and husband, Patrick, and Nick Meier; nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Chavez was preceded in death by her husband, Leonardo Chavez; parents, Joe and Carlota Vigil; sons, Herman and Joe (Dodo), and Vincent; daughters, Emma Lou Chavez, and Maggie Sanchez. Visitation will be Tuesday,  December 13, 2016  at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church, 820 Broadway SE from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.   Final visitation will be Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Diego Lucero, Marcos Chavez, Anthony Chavez, Joe Ben Chavez, Johnny Ray Barela, and Miguel Aragon. Honorary pallbearers will be Isaac Chavez, and Nick Meier.
