Armida Sanchez, age 79, beloved and beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister in law, was called to her resting place Saturday, March 26, 2016. A lifetime resident of Albuquerque, Armida was born June 14, 1936 to Horacio and Sadie Sanchez.  She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-one years, David Sanchez Sr.; son, David Sanchez Jr. and wife, Isabel, and his son, David J. Sanchez III and Alyshia; daughters, Geraldine Alires and husband , Ralph, and their sons, Ralph Jr., and Dominick; Maria Fritts and husband, Shane, and their daughter, Joslyn; great-grandchildren, Trinity Alires, Haylie Sanchez, and Denny Price; several godchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters in law, brothers in law, and many close friends. Armida was preceded in death by her parents, Horacio and Sadie Sanchez; brother, Louie;  and sister, Rita.  Of utmost importance to Armida was her love and devotion to her family.  Being a mother was her most important role in life and she loved her husband,  children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren with her whole heart.  She radiated a spirit of unconditional love, and her smile never failed to light up someone's day.  Her actions alone told the story of who she was, a woman built of strength and resilience.  Armida was known for her exceptional cooking. People praised her biscochitos, tamales, posole and chile rellenos, and she generously shared her recipes with anyone who asked.  Armida enjoyed travel and she and her husband visited many cities and states, their favorite destination being Las Vegas, NV.  Their recent travel took them to Ontario, Canada where they delighted in the attractions of the country.   It is difficult to encompass her life in words.  She was a amazing woman who will be loved and missed more that words can express. We will be grateful every day for her love, patience, dignity, and grace.  Visitation will be Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 9:45 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW with a Rosary to be recited at 10:15 a.m.; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Ralph Alires Jr., Dominick Alires, David J. Sanchez III, Richard Sanchez, Leo Felix Jr., and Bobby Felix.
