Arsenio J. Baca, age 78, born in Jarales, New Mexico and resident of Belen, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 surrounded by his family. Mr. Baca is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemarie; daughters, Denise Carrillo and husband, Moises and Rebecca Baethge and husband, Greg; five grandchildren; brother, Albino Baca; sisters, Marina Griego and husband, Moises and Helen Chavez; brother-in-law, Kenny Perea and wife, Kim. Mr. Baca is preceded in death by his parents, Macedonio and Bessie Baca; parents-in-law, Dennis and Logie Perea; sisters, Margaret “Maggie” Josephs, Lole Silva, Lucy Garcia and brother, Manuel “Manny” Baca.
Arsenio was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving two tours in the 25th infantry as a tunnel rat during the Vietnam Conflict. Arsenio came back to his native home in Belen, New Mexico were in 1965 he married his sweetheart, Rosemarie Perea. They had two daughters, Denise and Rebecca and they continued to live in love for fifty-two years. Arsenio was always a hard-working man and always took pride in anything and everything he did. He was also a college graduate and a skilled architect, electrical engineer for PNM. Arsenio took great pride in his five grandchildren, Mathew and Ashlee Carrillo, Justin, Caitlin and Kelly Borunda; as well as his great-grandson, Aidin Carrillo. He also loved his many nieces and nephews. Arsenio was an amazing person inside and out and he will be forever missed by so many.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at San Francisco Xavier Mission Catholic Church in Jarales, New Mexico, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at San Francisco Xavier Mission Catholic Church in Jarales, New Mexico with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow services at Casa Colorada Cemetery in Jarales, NM. Urn bearers will be Aidin Carrillo, Mathew Carrillo and Ashlee Carrillo.
