Barbara Ann Sedillos, age 61, born in Los Angeles, California to Frank and Barbara C. Sedillos, raised in Albuquerque and a resident of Rio Rancho, took her last breath on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Sandoval County Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Barbara is survived by her only daughter, Alesia Duran Cappon and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Jonathan and Michael; her father, Frank Sedillos; brothers, John Sedillos and wife, Linda, Robert D. Sedillos and Randy Sedillos and girlfriend, Liza Knight; sisters, Kathy Jaramillo and husband, Allen and Maria Trujillo and husband, Ace; long time partner, Daniel Sedillo; her aunts and many nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara C. Sedillos; brothers, Frank Sedillos Jr., Richard Sedillos and Steven Sedillos .   Barbara graduated from McCurdy School in Santa Cruz, NM in 1973.  She earned a Bachelor degree from University of New Mexico and Masters degree from New Mexico Highlands University.   She retired from National Nuclear Security Administration after 31 years of service as a budget analyst.  Barbara served as Eucharistic minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church on the Rio Grande during the twelve o'clock Mass.  She enjoyed singing karaoke, sewing, dancing, travel and baking.  Barbara was best known for her cheese balls, thimble nimble cookies and her millionaire pie.  In spite of her debilitating three and a half year battle with pancreatic cancer, she volunteered with Pancreatic Cancer Action Network by spreading awareness, hope and advocacy for a cure.   Visitation will be Monday, November 28, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Final visitation will be Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.,  Monsignor Lambert Luna, presider.   Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE.   Pallbearers will be Allen Jaramillo, Ace Trujillo, Randy Sedillos, Joshua Jaramillo, Jonathan Cappon and Michael Cappon.   In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in her name  to UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center, at UNM Cancer Center Development Office MSCO7 4025, 1 University of New Mexico Albuquerque, NM 87131-0001
