Benny James

Benny Lee James, age 58, born in Crownpoint, New Mexico and resident of Belen, New Mexico passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019.  Benny is preceded in death by his father, Lee James; younger brother, Timothy James; Aunt, Janet Dale and niece, Rhiannon James; they are all together in heaven with the Lord our savior.  Benny is survived by his beloved wife, Sueann James; children, Angelo and Devin, Jamie Rael and husband, Mark; mother, Virginia James; sisters, Marilyn Jake and husband, Sammy, Yolinda James, Sharon Gaddy, Devonna James; brothers, Ronald James and Richard Martinez, Calvin James and wife, Carolyn, Ricky James and wife, Tiera; Grandchildren, Tamara Sanchez, Cristobal Sanchez, Shania Sanchez and Stephanie Sanchez; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and two great-nephews.

Benny enjoyed cooking on the grill, being outdoors, hunting and golfing, he especially enjoyed family getting together, making everyone laugh with his teasing and stories, so many wonderful times.  We will miss his smile, wisdom and always taking care of his family and friends.  We will dearly miss Benny as a loving husband, dad, oldest son, oldest brother and being uncle bear, and a good friend.  A memorial service will be conducted by Calvary Church (HUB Building) located at 4001 Osuna Road N.E., Albuquerque on Tuesday, June 4 at 11:00 a.m., a reception will follow in the HUB right after the memorial service to celebrate Benny’s life and the family would love to hear your stories of Ben.  Our family expresses extreme gratitude for your condolences and prayers. We also are very very thankful to Gabaldon Mortuary and Calvary for our beloved Benny’s final arrangements.
