Bernie J. Blea, age 70, born in Peralta, NM , April 21, 1946 and a resident of Albuquerque was called to the Heavenly Gates, Thursday, August 04, 2016. Bernie is survived by his wife, Tommie; children, Bernadette DeAnda and husband,  Pete, Paul Blea and wife, Mar-y-Sol, Roque Montano, Rebecca Blea and companion, Megan,  Vivian Blea-Sanchez and husband, Alex; fourteen grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.  Bernie was blessed with two families, he was raised by the Late Libby Martinez (Mom); sisters, Theresa, Josie, Jennie, Lupe, Bernice and Cordelia; brothers, Rey and Ernie; half brothers and sisters, Yolanda, Lita, Roberta, Erlinda, Maxine, Martin , and Raymond.  Special brother/cousin, Freddie Chavez and many more cousins.  Bernie enjoyed going to the casinos, and was passionate  boxing fan.  He coached for the Albuquerque Police Athletic Program and the Hideout, and was known as Big Bern.   Visitation will Wednesday, August 10, 2016  at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Rd. SW from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 8:30 a.m.; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Private disposition will take place at a later time.
