Betty Jo Alderete, age 89, born in Clyde, New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on September 13, 2024. Mrs. Alderete is survived by her children, Leroy Alderete and wife, Josie, Virginia Chaves and husband, James, Jeanette Smith, Alan Jay Alderete, James Alderete and wife, Anitra; eleven grandchildren David Candelaria, Melissa Rivera, Mario Chaves, Gian Chaves, Jessica Lopez, Christopher Chaves, Julian Alderete, Jacob Alderete, James Aguilar, Joseph Alderete, Genevieve Alderete, and Miranda Alderete; twenty-three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Deluvina Valdez, John Gomez, and Robert “Bob” Gomez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Alderete; parents, Justiniano and Genoveva Gomez, sisters, Dina Echor, Isabel Pineda; brother Emiterio Gomez. Visitation will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024 in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final Visitation will be on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church 562 Atrisco Dr. SW with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Calvary Cemetery 1900 Edith Blvd NE. Pallbearers will be Mario Chaves, Gian Chaves, Christopher Chaves, James Aguilar, Julian Alderete, and Jacob Alderete. Honorary Pallbearers will be Miranda Jo Alderete, Genevieve Alderete, Joseph Alderete, Jessica Lopez, and Melissa Rivera.
