Billy Muniz, age 83, born in Santa Fe, NM, February 13, 1932 and a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with our Lord Sunday, June 07, 2015. Mr. Muniz is survived by his five children, Margaret Fernandez-Vallez and husband, Eddie, Patricia Muniz-Roberts and husband, Dennis, George Muniz and wife, Grace, Deborah Muniz-Fernandez and husband, Sam of  Torrance, CA, JoAnne Muniz;  grandchildren, Carlos Muniz, Sammy Fernandez lll, Erik Muniz, Vanessa Muniz, Nicole Fernandez; his only great-granddaughter, Kianna Lynn Muniz; his companion, Lila Aragon and her family; daughters, Henrietta Lerma and husband, John, Rebecca Farfan and partner, Frank Otero;  many nieces, nephews and godchildren.  Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia. Mr. Muniz was a member of the Catholic Church and attended Mass regularly. Mr. Muniz  was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, proudly serving during the Korean Conflict. The family would like to acknowledge those many close friends he shared his life with at the Los Volcanes Senior Center.  He truly enjoyed playing pool, dancing and spending time with his senior family. A special thanks goes out to Dr. Thomas Schroeder and his staff at the UNM Cancer Center who made this difficult journey bearable.  Also, many thanks go  out to the wonderful medical staff at the Veterans Hospital on the fifth floor who gave our dad the love and respect he deserved, and especially those in the Oncology department on the sixth floor. Visitation will be at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church 5415 Fortuna Road NW, Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 12:45 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited by Mrs. Connie Orona at 1:15 p.m.; Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m.  A Committal Service is scheduled at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 9:00 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2015.  Pallbearers will be Frank Jaramillo, John Lerma, Frank Otero, Robert Maldonado, Cosme Pohl, and Frank Jaramillo Jr.  Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great granddaughter.
