Casilda Montoya , age 86, born in Cuba, New  Mexico and resident of Albuquerque, passed away  peacefully at home with the Lord,  February  17, 2017.  Mrs. Montoya is survived by her children,  Andy Montoya and wife, Judy, Lee Montoya and wife, Rebecca, Edward Montoya, Irene Montoya-Byars, Danny Montoya; sister, Sandra Castro and husband, Anthony; two brothers, Tony Lucero, Herbert  Lucero and wife, Eva; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-six  great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson on the way; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Mrs. Montoya  was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-three years,  Erineo Montoya; her parents, Antonio and Delfina Lucero; brothers Marcellino Lucero, Ernesto Lucero, Lewis  Lucero,  Mariano Lucero; sisters, Tillie Martinez, Erlinda Lucero, Lydia Lucero; great grandchildren, Yolanda Montoya, Jeffrey Montoya. Before suffering from a stroke, she loved to cook and bake for all her family and always looked forward to Sunday visits.  She had a great sense of humor, loved to dance and sing and still managed to do so up to her passing.  She was committed to her  family and could always be relied on to help everyone.  She will be dearly missed. “ Via Con Dios Mama” , “ Fe Familia Amigos para Siempre”.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel , 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.   Final visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. Friday,  February 24, 2017 at the Shrine of the Little Flower Parish of St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church,  3424 Fourth St N.W.  with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Committal Service will be Monday, February 27, 2017 at 9:45 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dominic Montoya, Adrian Montoya, Michelle Montoya, Damian Chavez, Fabian Chavez, Joseph Montoya; Honorary Pallbearers will be Andres Montoya, Xavier Montoya, Ellijah Montoya-Zazpe, Carlos Chavez.
