Catherine (Kay) M. Hietpas, age 82, born in Menasha, WI and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 with her family at her side. Mrs. Hietpas is survived by her beloved husband of sixty-two years, Gerald (Jerry) M. Hietpas; children, Jerry Hietpas and wife, Vicki, John Hietpas and wife, Susan, Joe Hietpas and wife, Antoinette, Jeanne Hietpas-Carver and husband, Andrew, Julie Sena and husband, Arnold, Jane Stolzenburg and husband, Kurt; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and her brother, Father Tom Mayefske.  Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Mayefske; and brother, Roman Mayefske.  She was President /Owner of Action Safety Supply Inc. and was known as the original "Orange Barrel Lady."   Visitation will be Friday, August 19, 2016 at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church,  5901 St. Josephs Ave. NW  from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. by the Knights of Columbus; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
