Catherine Mendoza

Catherine Mendoza, age 88, born in Socorro, New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on October 7, 2024. Mrs. Mendoza is survived by her daughters, Ramona Gonzales and husband, Salvador, and Kay Hissa; sister, Nifa Archuleta; grandchildren, Matthew Gonzales, Paul Gonzales, Waylon Chavez, Shannon Fresquez, BJ Mendoza; great-grandchildren, Erique Gonzales, Dominic Gonzales, Ryan Chavez, Savannah Fresquez and Dylan Haze Mendoza; great-great-grandchildren, Emma Ortiz; sister in-law, Tommie Rosas; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pitacio Mendoza; sons, Benny Mendoza Sr. and Harry Mendoza, and her daughter, Fabby Mendoza; son in-law, Bobby Hissa. She retired from Albuquerque Public Schools with twenty plus years. She loved gardening and to cook for everyone. She also enjoyed caring for her husband’s livestock. A Visitation for Mrs. Mendoza will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 7:45 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 8:15 a.m. and a Mass to follow at 9:00 a.m. all to be held at St. Anne Catholic Church 1400 Arenal Road SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. An Interment to follow at Pajarito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Matthew Gonzales, Paul Gonzales, Erique Gonzales, Savannah Fresquez, BJ Mendoza, Allen House. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Sal Gonzales and Mike Fresquez.
