Cruz E. Otero, age 68, born in Capitan, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away Thursday, July 07, 2016. Cruz is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Irene; children, Denise I. Rodriguez, Cruz R. Otero and fiancee, Cassey Griego, Miguel A. Otero and wife, Dessy; and Dominic Otero; his mother, Barbara Otero; mother in law, Rosella R. Herrera; brothers, Michael L. Otero, Charles D. Otero, John D. Otero and wife, Joann, and Richard K. Otero; grandchildren, Joseph, Daniel, Sarahrose, Cruz Antonio (Boogie), Arianna, and Miguel Antonio; two great-grandchildren; uncle, Tony Garcia; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Cruz was preceded in death by his father, Miguel M. Otero; and father in law, Ramon S. Herrera. Cruz was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam Era, and a past member of the Army National Guard. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cindy Ramirez, Danny Pohl, Dominic Otero, Boogie, Frances Tapia, Cassey D. Griego, and Dessy Otero. Honorary pallbearers will be Cruz R. Otero, Miguel A. Otero, little Rick Otero, Tony Garcia and Sgt. Merlin Sena.
