Daniel A. Miera, age 82, born in Llano Largo, NM a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018. Mr. Miera will be greatly missed and is deeply loved by his family. He was a member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish and the American Legion Post 13, a Navy veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Daniel worked hard for 39 years for Universal Constructors. He loved to fish, play horse shoes, play pool, and dance. Mr. Miera is survived by his wife of 56 years, Persides (Persie) Miera; children, Paul Miera and significant other, Mary Ellen Perez, Monica Olivas and husband, Larry; grandchildren, Andrea Miera-Macias and wife, Crystal Miera- Macias, Danielle Olivas, Larisa Olivas; brother, Lazaro and wife, Mary Ann Miera; in-laws, Cecil and wife, Stella Contreras, Rudy and wife, Nancy Martinez, David and wife, Lourdes Martinez, Delfina Miera, Andy Youngblood, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Miera was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Virginia Miera; parents-in-law, Alfredo and Porfiria; one brother; and three sisters. A Rosary will be recited Friday, July 6, 2018 at 10:15 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Road N.W., followed by Mass of the Resurrection celebrated at 11:00 a.m. With burial ceremony on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Miera, Larry Olivas Jr., Cecil Contreras, Joe Miera, Joseph Valdez, and Daniel Martinez.
