Darren Jeffery Garcia age 22, and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on February 5, 2021. Darren survived by his mother, Michelle Johnston; father, Charles Garcia and wife, Angela; sister Franki Johnston and husband, Brian Ashe; brother, Isaac Ramirez; grandparents, Frank and Patricia Johnston. Corrina Garcia, Peter Garcia and wife, Patty, Manuel and Elaine Ramirez; great-grandparents, Josie Boyd, Julia Garcia, Frances Garcia; uncles, Mark Johnston, Frank Johnston, Dominic Garcia; best friend, Michael Davis; many other, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Darren was a one of a kind young man with a big heart and an amazing smile that would light up the room. He made an impact in everyone's life who came into contact with him. Darren loved baseball and played on the varsity team at Sandia High School. After high school Darren continued with his love for baseball and was head coach for the Junior Varsity Baseball team at Sandia High School. He made so many memories and life long friends during that time. He was always athletic and had dreams of becoming a physical trainer. Darren loved helping people to achieve their goals and build their self confidence. He became an assistant manager at OmniStregth gym, with this job he had the opportunity to help so many people and it became a huge sense of pride and fulfillment in his life. Health and Wellness was something that he was truly passionate about. Darren was an amazing person with so many passions in his life, he loved to travel with his family and friends and was always looking forward to the next adventure. He was a lover of animals and had a pet cat named Fenway who was his most comforting companion during his time of illness. Although the last year of Darrens life was filled with sickness and pain he was always striving to make each day count and not take it for granted. Darren took every trial in stride and always looked for the best in every situation, he overcame so much adversity throughout his life and truly grew into an amazing young man. He was blossoming and growing despite all of the obstacles put in his path. We will forever admire Darrens spirit, his smile will never be forgotten, his heart will always be intertwined with all of those who knew him and loved him. He was a treasure in this world and taken far too soon, we will never stop missing him. May he rest in God's love and light and shine down upon us from heaven. A Visitation will be held in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. Darren Service will be held at Sagebrush church 6440 Coors Blvd on February 16, 2021 at 1:00 PM.
