David Otero, age 89, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on February 12, 2024. David is survived by his children, Michael Otero, Jackie Otero-Garza, and Daniel Otero. Fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Louie Otero and wife, Eleanor, Esther Otero, Susan Cordova, Pauline Sedillo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lora Otero and son David Otero Jr. and son-in-law, Manny Garza. He graduated from Albuquerque high School in 1953 where he lettered in baseball, basketball, football and track and field. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War Era. He came home and served his community as a United States Postal worker where he retired. Visitation will be held in The Gabaldon Memorial Chapel 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m. by Patricia Muniz Roberts. Final visitation will be held at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church 8301 Camino San Martin SW on Monday. February 26, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow the Mass with Military Honors at Mt. Calvary Cemetery 1900 Edith Blvd NE where Mr. Otero will be laid to rest with his wife, Lora. Pallbearers will be Michael Otero, Carlos Otero, Daniel Ray Otero, Manuel Garza, Steven Otero, and Devon Sandoval. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dominic Otero, Andrew Otero, and Manny Otero.
