Emelda Chavez

Emelda Chavez, age 92, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on January 28, 2025. Emelda was a strong lady of faith, loving and kind to all. Anyone you met her, knew she was the hands of feet of Jesus. She was a hard worker, til the day she was gone, always cleaning the yard outside, even the sidewalks of the neighborhood. Her passion was dancing and singing(bilingual), she started that as a child and carried that with her til her last days.  Mrs. Chavez is survived by her grandchildren, Esther Tuitoelau-Thomas and husband Otto, Sarah Martinez, Abram Chavez and wife, Rosario, Nathan Chavez, Tara Luna and husband, Andrew; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Chavez Sr. and sons, Fred Chavez Jr. and Rudy Chavez; siblings, Eli Sarracino, Margaret Sarracino; Tillie Sarracino, Loggie Sarracino, Elsie Sarracino, Jennie Sarracino and grandson, Rosendo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 7:45 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church 1400 Arenal Rd. SW with a Rosary to be recited at 8:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. with burial to follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery.
