Ernest H. Chavez, age 79, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Mr. Chavez is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Rosanna; children, Arlene F. Chavez, Elaine A. Chavez and companion, Joe Martin Montano, Ronnie J. Chavez, Ernest H. Chavez, and Randy J. Chavez; daughters in law,  Jonene Chavez, Renee Chavez, and Erlinda Martinez; sister, Carmen Crider; brother, James Chavez and wife, Cora; grandchildren, Emerald Vallejos and husband, Adrian , Sapphire Chavez, Teena Marie Olguin and husband Abel, Matthew Chavez, Angela Chavez, Ernest Chavez III, Melanie Wiggins, Antonia Chavez, Enrique Chavez, and Valerie Sanchez; great-grandchidlren, Adrian,  Mariah, Jayden, Elijah, Bianca, Celeste, Christiana, Caleb, Joshua, Giuliana, Jaykob, Nathaniel, and Shayla.  Mr. Chavez was preceded in death by this his parents, Enrique and Antonia Chavez; son, Ralph J. Chavez, daughter  in law, Suzanne Chavez; grandchildren,  Jude Chavez, and Jax Estrada.  Mr. Chavez was a lifetime member of the Catholic Church, State Representative for five terms, District 12,  and was very active in the community.  Visitation will be Friday, July 01, 2016 from 7:45 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW with a Rosary to be recited at 8:15 a.m.; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Ernest Chavez III, Rico Chavez, Sapphire Chavez, Teena Marie Olguin, and Emerald Vallejos.  Honorary pallbearers will be Antonia Chavez, and Angela Chavez.
