Felipe Bernard Sangre
September 11, 1963 - March 15, 2025
It is with the deepest sadness that we announce Felipe B. Sangre, 61 of Albuquerque, NM passed away on March 15, 2025. Surrounded by his loving family in his final moments. He was from Isleta Pueblo and known by many names, Phillip, Flop, Dad and Grandpa (Popo). Son of Jose Alcario and Emma M. Sangre who preceded him in death.He is survived by his beloved & devoted wife Patricia Denise Sangre, daughter Shannon R. Gabaldon, son Phillip J. Sangre, stepdaughter Jennifer (Brandie) Boyden, stepson Wade (Shirley) Boyden, grandchildren Eternity and Dean Boyden. Siblings: Francis Mirabal, Anna Cuaron, Evangeline "Bobbie" Sangre, Gloria (Archie) Gibson and Anthony Sangre. Brother-in-law Mike (Pam) Martinez and mother-in-law Lynn Martinez. He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.Phillip was extremely proud of his military service, 82nd Airborne Division, 1st of the 509 ABCT, 4th of the 325 ABCT, 1st of the 508 ABN and 1st of the 505 ABN, and served overseas. He worked at the Federal Buildings for 22 years doing maintenance. He was very proud to have been the Vice President for his union LiUNA Local 16 and was also the Steward for the union at his work.He loved hunting, was an avid runner and cross country coach. He played with the Isleta Eagles (baseball) for two years and YAFL Isleta Demons for 1 year in the mid-seventies and Isleta Toros (baseball semi-pro) in 1977 to mid-nineties. He was known as the "Fierce Catcher".He was a magnificent artist and craftsman.Phillip left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was so loved and will be forever missed.
A Visitation for Mr. Sangre will take place Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. all to be held at St. Agustine Catholic Church. A Burial will take place on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at The Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Shannon Gabaldon, Phillip Sangre, Wade Boyden, Anthony Sangre, Mike Martinez, Jeff Martinez.
The Family would like to thank Corus Hospice for taking such wonderful and gentle care of Phillip during his illness.
