Florindo (Floyd) Romero, Jr., born in Espanola, New Mexico and resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday March 5, 2018. Floyd is survived by his children, Floyd Romero and girlfriend, Sita Rael, Sonja Romero-Armijo and husband, Mayan Armijo, Naomi Gabaldon and husband, Gabriel Gabaldon, Brianna Sanchez Romero, Monique Gallegos and husband, Rich Gallegos; siblings, Ramona Jaramillo, Renee Talachy, Jackie Ramirez, Emily Koon and husband, Dwayne Koon, and Robert Romero; grandchildren, Adriana Romero, Gabriel Gabaldon, Savannah Sanchez, Elijah Gabaldon, Mia Armijo, Isaiah Sanchez, Jaryd Tapia, Anyssa Gabaldon, Diego Armijo, Joshua Tapia, Jayson Tapia and great granddaughter, Lilliana Romero; his dear friend and mother of his children, Julia Tapia, his Tia Cruzita Todd as well as many beloved cousins, nephews and nieces from his hometown of Espanola, NM. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Florindo Romero, Sr. and Emilia Talachy and his grandparents, Cruz and Reynalda Gonzalez whom he was raised by; his siblings, Valentin Romero, Gilbert Gonzales, Johnny Gonzales, Andrew Talachy, Jerome Talachy, Phillip Talachy and James Talachy, Walter Romero and Eddie Romero. Florindo had many lifelong friends whom he cherished dearly. He was a friend to many and loved and honored his Country and fellow Veterans.
A visitation will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at New Beginnings Church, 3601 Montgomery Blvd. NE with a funeral service to be held at 10:30, followed by a committal service at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
