Fr. Ulric Pax, OFM died peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Casa Juan Diego Friary in Albuquerque. Born January 10, 1932 the son of Oscar Pax and Cordula (Post) Pax in Celina, OH. Fr. Ulric professed his vows on August 16, 1951 in Cincinnati, OH and was ordained priest on June 13, 1959 in Dayton, OH. His ministry took place in Streator, IL and at Keams Canyon and St. Michaels, AZ, as well as Cerrillos, Clovis, Gallup, Grants, and Laguna Pueblo, NM. Fr. Ulric retired from active ministry in 2011 due to failing health. His decreased physical activity in no way diminished his interest in and promotion of his lifelong dedication to parish censuses as a means of evangelization.
Reception of the body will take place on March 30, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Casa Juan Diego Friary, 1350 Lakeview Rd, SW followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:30 AM. Burial will take place at the friar’s plot at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
