Frank V. Padilla, age 86, born in Dawson, NM, to Victor and Mariana Padilla on May 25, 1929 and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, April 07, 2016.  Frank is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Eva Padilla; daughters, Torie Weber and husband, Fred, Celeste Padilla and husband, Dan, Marian Burkhart and husband, Don; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; seven siblings, Johnny, Mathias, Blase, Grace, Martha, David and Fidel; his son, Louis Teller; and most recently his granddaughter, Hannah Burkhart. Frank joined the United States Air Force in 1946, and retired from active duty as a Tech Sgt. in 1967. Frank distinguished himself throughout his military career and received an Airman’s Medal after rescuing a pilot and co-pilot from a downed aircraft on the verge of exploding. Frank continued work at Kirtland Air Force base for a number of years and raised a family in Albuquerque. He loved to travel and attend reunions of the coal-mining ghost town where he grew up. Of all his accomplishments, he was most proud of his family and grandkids.  Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Santuario de San Martin Catholic Church, 8321 Camino San Martin SW with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m.; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. A Committal Service with full military honors, in a special ceremony, is scheduled at the Santa Fe National Cemetery,  Friday April, 15, 2016 at 9:45 a.m.
