Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Geneva "Ginger" Arlene Lovato

March 3, 1960 – December 6, 2024

With profound love and heavy hearts, we celebrate the beautiful life of Geneva "Ginger" Arlene Lovato, who gracefully departed from this world on December 6, 2024, after a determined and courageous four-year battle with liver cancer. Born on March 3, 1960, Ginger was a beacon of love and strength, whose legacy will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate to know her.

Ginger is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Johnny and Tammy Garcia, maternal grandparents Heraclio and Anita García, paternal grandparents Juan and Amalia Garcia, her brother Manuel Garcia, and her cherished son, Larry “Mikey” Michael Lovato Jr. The memories of these loved ones were a source of strength and inspiration for Ginger, and their spirits now welcome her home.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Lawrence “Larry” B. Lovato; her loving children, Gabriella, Juanita, and Franko, along with his wife Dre; and her precious grandchildren, Johnny, Jayda, Jacob, Stephanie Rae, John Stephen, and Kaitlyn. She also leaves behind her treasured siblings—sisters Annie (with husband Alex Lolo Echeribel), Cindy (with husband Marvin Garcia), Becky (with Sam Flores), and brother David Garcia.

Ginger's life was a testament to the power of resilience, love, and kindness. Her unwavering faith and compassion touched everyone she met, and her generosity knew no bounds. A pillar of her community, Ginger's door was always open, whether to offer solace in times of need or share in life’s joyous moments.

Her extended family and friends, too numerous to list, were embraced with the same warmth and inclusivity that defined Ginger’s character. Each relationship was cherished, each person a vital part of her life's story, woven together with the threads of laughter, love, and shared memories.

Professionally, Ginger contributed significantly to Signetics /Philips, manufacturing IC chips, semiconductors. She helped to drive forward technological progress during a transformative time for the industry. Her keen eye for detail and unwavering commitment to excellence ensured high-quality production and innovation. While at EMCORE Corporation, her expertise and passion continued to shine as she contributed to developing advanced microelectronics for Space application. Her work was instrumental in enhancing the company's capabilities and reputation.

To honor the joy and light that Ginger brought to the world, two celebrations of her life will be held. One gathering will take place in Washington, and another in Albuquerque, allowing her vast circle of family and friends the opportunity to pay tribute to her remarkable life. Dates and locations for events will be shared with family and friends.
