George E. Chavez Jr., age 53, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015.  George is survived by his children, Brianna Rose Chavez, Ross Chavez, and Gianna Perea; step-son, Christopher Gomez; girlfriend, Valerie Anaya; his mother, Priscilla Chavez; aunt, Cecilia Padilla; sisters, Carla Silva, Marina Gutierrez and husband, Chris, Crystal Herrera and husband, David; cousins, Linda, Rick, Vickie, Angel; and many other extended family members including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  George was preceded in death by his father, George E. Chavez Sr.; daughter, Kandice Rose Chavez; and son, Jerome A. Chavez.  Visitation will be Monday, May 4, 2015 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m.; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Urnbearers will be Rick Padilla and Oscar Gomez.  The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in honor of George E. Chavez Jr.
