Gertrude Torres

Growing up in in Belen, NM, Gertrude shared a close bond with her siblings Ignacio Raymond, Joseph, Stella, and Adela.  She met her husband and the love of her life, Emilio Torres at a dance when she was 20 years old and they continued to dance for 65 years.  Gertrude maintained that, "being a mother was her favorite thing," which she demonstrated through her kindness and selflessness.  She found strength in the Catholic Church and was a proud member of The Legion of Mary.  Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, her siblings, and
her daughter, Dolores.  She is survived by her children, Nadine Torres, John and Anna Torres, David and Johanna Torres; her grandchildren, Vincent and Tamara Torres, and Leaha and Jason Graham; her great-grandchildren Harper, Stella, Emilio and Owen.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac Rd SW.   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Ascension with a reception to follow.
