Gilbert David Carrillo, age 71, born in La Joya / Socorro, New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on December 20, 2022. Gil is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Elizabeth Benavidez Carrillo; son, Brian Paul Carrillo and wife, Brianne; Godson’s Emilio Garcia Benavidez and Mark Garcia; sisters, Cathy Griego and husband, Leo, Erma Sanchez and husband, Bob, Yvonne Chavez- Kolacy and husband, Doug; sister-in law, Gloria Carrillo; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aristeo and Lucille Carrillo and brother, Aris Carrillo. Mr. Carrillo worked for General Motors for seventeen years and Robert B. Gibson Auto Sales for ten years. He loved the outdoors of fishing and camping. In his spare time, he was a life-long fan of horse racing. We as his family would like to thank the staff at Lovelace Medical for providing him quality care. He touched so many lives and will be greatly missed. A Rosary will be recited Friday, January 6th, 2023 at 9:00am with a Mass at 9:30am all to be held at St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church located at 3424 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107. A Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
