Gilbert Duran , age 83, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on April 9, 2025. Mr. Duran is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth Apodaca and John Bloomfield and Nadine Duran and husband, John Chavez; grandchildren, Ronnie Apodaca and husband, Jim Wiley, Angelica Stanley and husband, Ryan and Jonnae Chavez; great-grandchildren, Jordan Stanley and Roman Stanley; sister Betty Chavez and husband, Pete; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Duran, siblings, Louie Duran and Herman Duran and wife, Clara, parents, Joe and Valentina Duran. Mr. Duran served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. A Visitation for Mr. Duran will be on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. in The Gabaldon Memorial Chapel located at 1000 Old Coors Drive SW. Albuquerque, New Mexico 87121. A Final Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m. at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church in Old Town. Burial will take place on Monday, April 28, 2025, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. located at 501 N. Guadalupe St. in Santa Fe, where Mr. Duran will be laid to rest with his wife, Mary Lou. Pallbearers will be, Ronnie Apodaca, Jim Wiley, Ryan Stanley, John Chavez, Michael Duran, Raymond Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Bloomfield, Pete Chavez, Eloy Duran Sr. and Eloy Duran Jr.
