Gilbert J. Gomez, age 81, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016. Mr. Gomez  is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Lucy Elwell Gomez; four children, Rosary Connor and husband, Francis, Estrella Solis and husband, Martin, Albert Gomez and wife, Minerva, Anthony Gomez and wife, Sylvia; sisters, Barbara Martinez, and Dorothy Carriaga; brothers, Larry Gomez, and Richard Gomez; grandchildren, Mariposa, Michael, Olivia, Mario, Lucia, Michaela, and Francis Jr.; great-grandchildren, Shaneise, Alyssa, Saville, Isaiah, Alijah, Estevan, Kazandra, Mario Jr., Jaime, Allisson, Jaelynne, James Jr., Michael Jr., Brendon, Tatum, Rileigh, Jaxon, Tynisa, Isaiah, Daniel, and Dominic; sisters in law, Nora Gomez, and Emily Gomez; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Visitation will be on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Jimmy Delgado. Final visitation will be Friday, September 23, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with  Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church  5415 Fortuna Rd. NW.  Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery,1900 Edith Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Albert Gomez, Anthony Gomez, Michael Gomez, Mario Gomez, Francis Connor, and Martin Solis.
