Gilbert Lawrence Valdez

Gilbert Lawrence Valdez, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on January 1st, 2024. Gilbert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol Valdez; his sister, Sr. Doris Louise ODN; children, Annette Leyba and husband Michael, Theresa Jaramillo and husband Chris, Tony Montoya, and Marc Montoya; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. 
 
Gilbert was a cherished father, brother, and Tata. He demanded the attention of any room he entered and would fulfill any wish of those he cared for. He will be greatly missed and will live on through the love of his most precious treasure, his family. 
 
Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, January 11th, 2024, at 6:00pm in The Gabaldon Memorial Chapel located at 1000 Old Coors Drive SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87121 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. A Final Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12th, 2024, at 8:30am with a Mass of the Resurrection to follow at 9:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church located at 562 Atrisco Dr. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. Internment will follow the services at Gate of Heaven Cemetery located at 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87109.
