Gloria Bernice Beach

d. March 5, 2024

Gloria Bernice Beach, 88, sadly passed away peacefully at her home in Tempe, Arizona, on March 5, 2024.

Gloria is survived by her children, David (Jeana) Beach, Kenneth (Melissa) Beach, Renee (Steve) Beach-Bell, Ronald Beach, Sandra (Steve) Beach-Warfield, Roman Beach, Andrea (Greg Kotsakis) Beach, 11 loving grandchildren (Jillian, Joshua, Stephani, Ryan, Curtis, AJ, Seth, Danny, Makayla, Warner, Luke), 5 great grandchildren (Vera, Ilektra, Braden, Beckett, Harald) and her sister, Rosemary Garcia.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, Joseph Beach, her parents, Charles and Andrea Sanchez, and brother, Charles “Carlos” Sanchez.

Gloria, was a wonderful woman of many talents. She was an exceptional seamstress whose passion was making clothes for her children, grandchildren and of course herself. She often had many projects going at the same time. Whether it was a blouse, matching shirts for her sons and sons-in-law, cheerleading uniforms for the Valley High School Cheer squad, or Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. She once ran her own professional Drapery business (Gloria’s Drapes). Her father was a carpenter by profession, and Gloria inherited his skills. Many times, we would come to her home and find her on a step ladder painting, installing electrical outlets, or cutting trim with her radial saw. She had a great eye for design and her home exhibited her tasteful work.

Her children and grandchildren were her joy in life. She loved attending their sporting events. Basketball games, track meets, swim meets, soccer matches, and golf tournaments, she was always there cheering, and of course giving the referee’s a hard time. She always had an encouraging word if the results weren’t as expected and celebrated the wins. A glass of wine, a dance floor, friends and family around……Celebrating always made her happy!

We will miss the phone calls asking if we are having a good day, the morning puzzles, the late afternoon movies, and coming over for dinner. We had wonderful trips to places like Greece, Costa Rica, and Europe. We will especially miss the conversations and her cooking….mmm those tortillas!

There was so much more to Gloria than can be expressed in so few words, but we all have wonderful memories that will be shared over time.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 17th at Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Dr., SW, Albuquerque, NM. Visitation at 8:30am and services at 9:00am. Burial services will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, NM., at 11:00am.
