Gloria Lovato

Gloria A. Lovato (Torres), age 66, lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away April 14, 2018 with her son Lorenzo by her side.  Gloria is survived by her children, John Torres, Rubi Lovato, Lorenzo Lovato and Valery Simpson and spouse, Tim; sister, Rosie Gutierrez; and three grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Mary Lovato, Rayleen Gutierrez and James Patrick Simpson and her dear friend, Bud Baldonado. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Torres; her beloved biological mother, Mary Gutierrez Valencia; her beloved husband, Patrick Lovato;  brother, James Valencia; and sisters, Anna and Beatrice Valencia.

Gloria retired from Bernalillo County in 2005 where she spent most of her career working in Juvenile corrections.  After her retirement, she spent her final years with her sisters and grandkids doing the things she loved. They never missed an oldies concert or senior day at the casino. They loved taking vacations in the same places every year, taking unnecessary daily trips to Walmart and hanging out at home watching Bonanza and Little House on the Prairie reruns.  Gloria was loved my many and will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held Monday, April 23, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.  A final visitation will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Saint Edwin Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona Rd SW, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow services at Mount Calvary Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Gabriel Lopez, Diego Lopez, Peter Gutierrez Jr., Jessica Gutierrez, Joseph Gutierrez, John Torres
