Gregorio “Gregory” Armenta, age 92, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on September 5, 2021. Mr. Armenta is survived by five children, Ruby Torrez, Robert Armenta and girlfriend, Tina, Jimmy Armenta and wife, Julie, Irene Armenta, Belinda Mock and husband, Todd; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; special nephew, Leroy Barboa; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Armenta was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline; son, Louie; parents, Borjas and Hildia Armenta; brothers and sisters, Borjas Armenta Jr., Alcario Armenta, Jose Armenta, Alberta Armenta, Rita Anzures, and Jesse Moraga. Mr. Armenta served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War ll where he was awarded the Victory Medal and served in 1409th Military Police Company. He also proudly served this City’s Community and retired after twenty-five years with the Albuquerque Fire Department. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. at Church of the Ascension 2150 Raymac Rd. S.W. with a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Ascension with interment to follow the service at Pajarito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Armenta, Brandon Thorp, Marcus Thorp, Adrian Armenta, Nathan Armenta, Todd Mock. Honorary Pallbearer will be Leroy Barboa.
