James Earl Hollie, age 83, born in Hollandale, Mississippi and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on April 15, 2021. Mr. Hollie is survived by his children, son, Russell Hollie, daughter, Laura Reno; grandchildren, Audra, Lindsay, and Blake and wife, Krysa; his partner of many years, Judy Chavez; stepsons, Chris and Cameron Mitchell of Dallas, Texas. great-grandchildren, Julie Hollie, Kinley, Bryce Olivia and Mila McCormack; daughter-in law, Jean Hollie; siblings, Bob Hollie and wife, Patsy, Joyce Sanders and husband Keith. Dad had a most colorful life as a professional musician playing for renowned artists such as George Jones and Tammy Wynette. He was also a mechanic and had a business for pool repair and landscaping. He then retired and moved to Albuquerque, NM where he loved playing his guitar for various nursing homes and clinics. He also drove a tour bus for retired citizens to gamble and attend shows. He basically just enjoyed life and wanted to make people happy. Visitation will be held on Monday May 10, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Legacy East Church 4701 Wyoming Blvd NE with the Funeral Service following at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Robert Wood, Cameron Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, Nelson Hollie, Steve Hollie, Marty Baguet, Randy Ortigo, Honorary Pallbearer will be Dennis Dexel. Private Interment will take place at a later date.
