Jimmy Santiago Chavez

Jimmy Santiago Chavez, age 72, a resident of Los Padillas, New Mexico, passed away on October 4, 2024. Jimmy lived a very simple life. He never left Los Padilla’s and never had any desire to do so. He was very kind, very caring and very generous man. Jimmy always worked hard keeping the yard clean and he took care of it until he could no longer do it all himself, but he always lent a hand where he could. He never acquired many material things during his life, a lesson we can all take from him; is that we can all exist with very few material things. Another lesson we can take from him is how generous he was, he loved to have candy, sodas and other goodies for all the kids, and they all knew they could go to Uncle Jimmy, and he would always have something for them. He was very thoughtful. He will be missed and remembered always, as a very kind man. Jimmy is survived by his brother, Rafael Chavez, nieces and nephews, Raul Chavez, Celina Duran and husband, Eric, Michael Chavez, Monica Abeyta and husband Philip, and Vencent Griego; sister in-law, Gloria Chavez; grandnieces and nephews Alyssa Chavez, Maribel Chavez, Sophia Chavez, and Tristin Chavez; great- nieces and nephews, Jaylynn Moralez, and Kyrie Chavez Purvis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Demeterio and Ernestina Chavez. A visitation for Mr. Chavez will be held in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m.
