Jose C. Apodaca, age 87, born in Las Cruces, NM, and resident of Albuquerque, passed away, Friday, December 16, 2016 at home with his family by his side. Jose is survived by his daughters, Cecilia Schultz, Naomi Underwood and husband Don; grandchildren, Cecilia Rivera, Mariah Barnes and husband Christopher; great grandchildren, Anthony Rivera, Savannah Rivera, Eric Silva, Xavier Barnes, Christopher Barnes, and Isiah Barnes. Jose was preceded in death by his wife, Piedad Apodaca; sister, Carmen Gonzales; brother-in-law John Gonzales; and brother Modesto Apodaca. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Santuario de San Martin Catholic Church, 8321 Camino San Martin SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on at 10:30 a.m. A Committal Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
