Josephine Smith

Josephine Smith, age 91, resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 24, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones.  She is survived by her children, Elizabeth and husband, David, Michael and wife, Catherine and Debbie; nine grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren.  Josephine was born in 1928 in Jarales, New Mexico.   She was a great provider and hard-working mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  While working in the retail industry, Josephine continued to study for her GED, which she received at the age of 48.  She went on to work at Lovelace Hospital for 20 years, from which she retired.  She then went on to work at Sears, where she worked until the age of 82.  After retirement, she enjoyed hosting bus trips to Laughlin, where she met many wonderful people until age 90.  Josephine will be missed dearly by all of her family and friends.

A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.  Private Interment will take place at a later date.

Pallbearers will be Mark Herrera, Matthew Herrera, Christopher Herrera, Joleen Lopez, Elisia Aranda, Lynette Griego, Erin Trujillo and Santiago Baca.
