Laura Kathryn Chavez

Our special angel, Laura Kathryn Chavez, age 61, passed away on October 28, 2023. Laura was born on August 8, 1962 to Joe and Sally Chavez. Laura bravely fought a very rare illness, but ultimately God decided he wanted her back in his loving arms. Laura is survived by her brother Joe Chavez, sisters Barbara Montoya and Patricia Chavez, and many nephews and nieces. Laura is preceded in death by her parents, brother Steve, and sister Mary Lou. Laura also had a bonus family at Park Home where she was very well-cared for and loved. She will be greatly missed by Bianca Varela, Jazamyne Myers, Frances Candelaria, Sandra Martinez, Denean Keith, Dana Lawson, and many other special staff members, her roommates and friends Drake Russell, Erinn Barela, Michelle Manning, and many others.

Laura loved music and dancing and lit up the room with her smile. We are blessed to have been chosen to have this special child in our family. She was a precious gift from Heaven. She was never a burden – she was a blessing in disguise.

A Visitation for Laura will take place Monday, November 6, 2023 at 12:00pm with a Rosary to be recited at 12:30pm and a Mass at 1:00pm all to be held at Mount Calvary Chapel. Interment will follow services at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Chavez, Julian Chavez, Jonathan Hernandez, Gabriel Cabrera, Albert Orona, and Marcos Salazar.
