Laura Romero

Laura Abelina Romero, 79 years of age, of Albuquerque, passed away on May 10th, 2021.

Laura was born in Torreon, New Mexico to Roberto and Aurora Lujan on July 26th, 1941. She was raised the fourth child of fifteen siblings, whom she loved and cared for. She married Raymond Romero on Nov. 21st, 1964, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Albuquerque. She led a life of service to her family, church and community. She was an active member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and participated in the Altar and Rosary Society and Legion of Mary throughout her lifetime. Laura loved to entertain and bring family and friends together, and she always had a space at her table for those who needed one.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents, Roberto and Aurora, and her brothers Richard, Florenio and Ralph.

Laura is survived by her husband Raymond, her daughters Rebecca Montoya, husband Michael, Elizabeth Sharifie, husband Zia, and Roberta Romero, husband Chris Jones; her grandchildren Michael Montoya Jr., fiance Daisy, Dominic Montoya, wife Margy, Samantha Montoya, Naiem Sharifie, Jasmin Sharifie, Sofia Sharifie, Santiago Jones, Leonardo Jones; great-grandchild Amelia Montoya; along with siblings, nieces nephews and godchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Montoya, Zia Sharifie, Chris Jones, Michael Montoya Jr., Dominic Montoya, Naiem Sharifie. Honorary pallbearers will be Santiago and Leonardo Jones.
