Laurence Ortiz

Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Friend and Community Pillar - Laurence Michael Ortiz (Papa), passed in peace surrounded by family on October 26, 2021. Born February 10, 1956, Larry lovingly engaged his entire life of 65 years in continuance of the Ortiz farm-land legacy completing this fourth generation of lineage. He had a servant-heart and would give of himself and his knowledge to anyone he came across who needed it.

He will be reunited in heaven with his Father, Luz P. Ortiz and Mother, Marcella Griego, and brothers Pio and Sonny. He is survived by his three children, Andrea Gonzalez and husband David, Juanita Ortiz and partner JW, and, Aengus Ortiz and partner Michael; grandchildren: Sarah, Jamie, Rebekah, Casey and Estevan; great grandchildren: Brealyn, Maxemiliano, Brooklyn and Jackson; brothers: Steven, Raymond, Martin, & Sisters: Lucille, Rose Marie and Lanette.

He truly will be missed by many. Most will miss him driving by on his John Deer tractor; for that sound will forever be in our hearts and ears. He earnestly kept the valley alive with family values, tradition and culture. In his own way, he was legendary in the South Valley. He will also be remembered by the fruits of his labor, great faith and the way he helped his Dad his entire life without question to continue the traditions of his Father at the corner of Raymac and Isleta.

He was most proud of being the true definition of Papa. We look forward to seeing him in heaven.
