Leo Griego Sr., age 79, born in Dixon, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, September o6, 2016. Mr. Griego is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Gloria;  children, Leo Griego Jr. and wife, Henrietta, Harry Griego and wife, Leslie, Robert Griego, Michael Griego and wife, Beatriz, Sylvia Griego-Beeler and husband, Richard, and John Griego; honorary son and daughter, Ramiro and Genevieve Ramirez ; eighteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Mr. Griego was preceded in death by his son, Lewis.  He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.  Visitation will be  Friday, September 09, 2016 from 7:45 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Dr. NW with a Rosary to be recited at 8:15 a.m. by Ramiro and Genevieve Ramirez; Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at  9:00 a.m.   Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.  Pallbearers will be Harry Griego, Paul Griego, Alex Griego, Josh Beeler, Matthew Ramirez, and Anthony George.  Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher Ramirez.
