Levi S. Esquibel, age 94, born April 03, 1921 in Abo, NM to Ramon and Juanita (Sisneros) Esquibel and a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday, January 20, 2016. Mr. Esquibel is survived by his beloved wife of seventy-two years, Susanita,  whom he married in April of 1944 at the San Miguel Church in Socorro, NM.; and his children, Patricia Lopez and husband, John, Yvonne Yanez, Juan Esquibel and wife, Theresa, Levi  R. Esquibel, Dennis Esquibel,  Mark Esquibel and wife, Gloria, and Luke Esquibel; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty-five great -grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his son, Richard (Ricky) Esquibel.  Mr. Esquibel was raised in  Abo and La Jolla, NM and went to school in La Jolla and Mountainair.  He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving during WWII in the Pacific and Japan.  He served in the CCC and NYA in Carthage Bosque de Apache and Battleship Rock.  He had a long career at Kirtland Ari Force Base.  Levi loved raising cattle and tending to his garden. He was a faithful servant at the San Andres and Church of the Ascension Catholic Church and served in many ministries for nearly sixty years.   He enjoyed and loved singing in the Spanish choir and the City Wide Choir with family and friends.  Visitation will be Friday, January 22, 2016 at Church of the Ascension Catholic Church, 2150 Raymac SW from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Elena and Jesus Orozco.  Final visitation will be at the Church Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Father Edmund Savilla, presider.  Interment will follow at the Los Padilla's Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Mathew Aragon, Marcos Aragon, Christopher Esquibel, Andrew Esquibel, Xavier Chavez, Miguel Yanez, Isaiah Chavez, and Mark Esquibel.
