Lucy Garcia

Lucy U. Garcia, age 88, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends.  Lucy was born in Jarales, New Mexico in 1929 to her parents, Andres and Sinforosa Urtiaga.  She moved to San Jose, California where she lived with her brother, Sal and sister-in-law, Josie and worked in the canning factory.  She returned to live in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she met her beloved husband of 65 years, Eddie Garcia.  They married while Eddie was on leave from the Army in 1955 and had two children, Edward and Teresa.  Lucy is survived by her son, Edward (Ed) Garcia and his wife, Pearl; her daughter, Teresa Garcia and partner, Martin Lind; her sister, Lena Peralta and husband, Florenio; brother, Horasio Urtiaga and wife, Presy; two granddaughters, Savanna and husband, Michael Valenzuela, Nicole and husband, Shane Lovato, and one grandson, Derrick Michael Garcia; and one great-grandson, Antonio Shane Lovato.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018 form 9:45 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 10:15 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 p.m.
