Marcella Chavez

Marcella Chavez, age 89, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018, with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Chavez is survived by her children, David Chavez Jr. and wife, Sheila, Liz Carson and husband, Gary, Barbara Montano, Diana Martinez and husband, Ralph, Linda Salazar and husband, Joseph, Richard Chavez Sr. and wife, Lucia; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter and another on the way! Mrs. Chavez was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Chavez, parents, and siblings. A visitation will be held Monday, July 2, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Drive S.W., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.; a final visitation will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church with interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Davey Chavez Jr., Nicholas Chavez, Raymond Martinez, Joseph Salazar, Gary Carson, and Gabe Candelaria. Honorary Pallbearer will be Isaac Sandoval.
