Marcos Sedillo, age 77, born in Manzano, New Mexico and resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on September 9, 2024 surrounded by his cherished family. He spent his life creating lasting memories and touching the hearts of everyone he encountered. A man of faith, a devoted husband, father, and “Grandpo,” he will be remembered for his warmth, wisdom, and enduring love for his family.

Throughout his 77 years, Marcos led his multigenerational family unit with strength, discernment, and sophistication. He was married to his loving bride, Mary Lou, for almost 58 years. The unwavering devotion shared by the two of them throughout their journey as spouses demonstrates an idyllic example of unconditional love and loyalty within a marriage.

Marcos was drafted into the United States Army at a mere 18 years of age, and honorably served his country in the Vietnam War. He has been revered as an American hero and veteran by his community and family. After working for over 30 years at General Electric, he began a well-deserved retirement. Marcos brought an intrinsic work ethic, reliability, and integrity to everything he did in this life.

Outside of his occupation, Marcos delighted in spending many happy hours supporting his children and grandchildren in their many endeavors. He was one of the best active listeners you will ever have met. His various contributions and perspectives on wide-ranging topics came from a place of sincerity and sensibility. His generosity went beyond what anyone deserved; he consistently exuded a composed gratitude and joy when giving of his time, energy, and resources.

Marcos was a constant source of support, fellowship, and love for his wife and family circle. They were the center of his life, and his pride in them was evident in everything he did. Marcos will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know and love him. He was and will continue to be their role model as he leaves a legacy of resilience, graciousness, and generosity through them.
