Maria Piro

d. January 20, 2015  PIRO (DEANDA), MARIA JESSIE, left to be with Our Lord, early Tuesday morning, January 20, 2015. Maria was born September 15, 1915, to Jose Dolores DeAnda and Concepcion (Concha) Montez DeAnda. She was the first born and a favorite of her grandparents. After came nine more siblings, Lorenzo, Elena, Catalina, Frances, Julia, Mattie, Eddy, Precilliano, and Ernestine. The only surviving sibling is Precilliano DeAnda and wife, Berna. Jessie was raised in Los Lunas and graduated from Los Lunas High School. She was very successful in school where she found out she could sing. She loved to sing, she sang in musicals and in her church choir, even in her last days she had not lost her voice and could be heard singing with the TV, as she watched Mass. She was a devout Catholic. Maria married Albino Piro, November 28, 1945, and raised three children, Robert, Lydia and Juanita. Her family was her first love; there was nothing she would not do for them, and they were very devoted to her as well and will miss her every day of their lives. Maria was always busy; she raised animals, gardened, baked the most delicious bread, loved arts and crafts and learned to play the guitar to sing at choir. She is survived by her son, Robert and wife, Diane, daughter, Lydia Piro and husband, Judge Pedro Rael, daughter, Juanita Sena. She dearly loved her grandchildren, Caprice Piro-Amerine, Bobby Piro, Jenna Piro, Nicacio Pantano, Miguel Pantano, Sharalaina Piro-Rael, Ricardo Piro-Rael, Roque Sena, and Regina Sena; great-grandchildren, Annalicia Sena, Philip and Beth Amerine. Visitation will be Friday, January 23, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 10:00 in the gathering room at San Clemente Catholic Church, 244 Luna Ave., Los Lunas, NM; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in the Church, Father James Marshall, presider. Interment will follow in the Los Lentes Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Caprice Amerine, Philip Piro, Bobby Piro, Jenna Piro, Nicacio Pantano, Miguel Pantano, Ricardo Piro-Rael, Sharalaina Piro-Rael, Roque Sena, Regina Sena, and Rebecca Culp. The family would also like to give a special thank you to Emma Renteria, Barbara Apodaca, Pete Rael, Father Bryant, Dr. Ben Pintor, Dr. Susan Barrett and Dr. Lorraine Herrera.
